Join writer K.B. Kveld on the Wild Light journey
A New Supernatural Science Fantasy Series

Coming in January: Wild Light
A Dark Secret and a Supernatural Conspiracy
On an alternate 18th century Earth, where a mythical species living among humans will kill to hide their true presence...
Robin, a woman with amnesia and strange abilities, has a fateful encounter in a forest with a small group of men, women, and children who are being hunted. And now, she is too.
But they are all harboring secrets, and their meeting is no accident. Powerful rogue Beings have been planning this meeting for a very long time. They want something...big. If Robin and those she comes to care about can survive long enough to find out what it is.
A suspenseful, tightly-woven supernatural-science fantasy plot that gets bigger with each twist. Full of mysteries, multi-layered characters, ingenuity, magical realism, and secret powers. And at the heart of it all, family, belonging, and love.
Join the discovery in Book 1 of the Wild Light journey, which may appeal to readers who have also enjoyed:
-
The strength of family and love in the Mercedes Lackey Valdemar fantasy series.
-
The foundations for Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality supernatural series.
-
The use of reason and empathy to find the truth, and a look into historical life, in Anna Lee Huber's historical mysteries.
-
Earl Mac Rauch's 1980s musician scientist (although the 18th century female in this story, who is trying to cope in a world that has yet to accept the potential of women, is facing other challenges).
-
And a certain series by Anne McCaffrey that would be too much of a spoiler to name.
About K.B. Kveld
K.B. Kveld was born to create.
With words, music, visual design, even common office and household products.
(One year at Halloween, she turned her corporate office into an Elvis shrine from the far future, using upside-down tables and shower curtains covered in glitter. Her boss wasn't all that amused, although he wasn’t surprised.)
But it was creating anything with words, in particular, that became her biggest mainstay.
The fun stuff: writing stage plays, role plays, song lyrics, poems, and fiction of all kinds.
And the more serious stuff: writing news and feature stories for newspapers and magazines. Which led to corporate communications (where many journalists wind up).
Now she’s got an office she’s truly free to decorate any way she wants (currently sporting symbols from ancient Egypt), where she can imagine the worlds she’s writing about.
With flying goggles at the ready.
History, Science & Other Tidbits
Under Construction
There are so many topics that came up in the research for this series that it's difficult to choose which ones to write about first! Maybe you can help. After reading Wild Light Book 1, what background details would you be most interested in learning more about? (Not to be confused with 'plot' details...) Use the 'Get in Touch' form below to let K.B. know. Below are a few ideas to get you started. (They aren't linked to blogs yet.) Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Art & Science:
Would you like to learn what 18th century pigment color changed everything for painters, and why? (The color is not named in Book 1.)
Nature:
Are you interested in the research on the perception of fear and pain in animals? (This relates to something that happens in the Valley in Book 1.)
History:
Are you curious about the history of how people expressed gratitude across different cultures, and the impact it had on their behavior and customs?
